Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!
Today I am sharing with you the second card that I created for the coloring challenge over at Make it Crafty. And this month the theme is “Coloring Skin”.
As I have mentioned on my previous post, I would like to get better in coloring skin with my pencils and this is my second attempt for this month’s challenge.
Feel free to subscribe to my blog if you want to see more of my cards and please let me know in the comment section what do you think of my card.
For this card I chose this lovely image called Jade in Bikini.
I printed the image on Bristol smooth card stock and colored it with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. It took me around 3 hours to color this image that is around 10cm high. Coloring with pencils takes time because you have to work in layers and with a light touch in order to build up those layers and to get a smooth result. It helps a lot to have well sharpened pencils.
After I was finished with the coloring I fussy cut the image.
To create the background I used a number of colored card stocks that I tore in order to create the image of a beach.
I adhered them on a silver 18cm x 15cm card base and with white acrylic paint and a brush I painted the waves on top of the torn card stock.
After it was all dry I adhered the image with foam tape.
I used an Ice-cream stick to create the piece of wood for the sentiment. I cut it to create the feeling of an abandoned wood on the beach, and to help me with that I used white Gesso and after it dried I colored it with distress ink and a Derwent Inktense pencil.
I then created two holes and passed the twine through in order to hang it on the girl’s hand.
I had so much fun coloring this image and creating the card and I hope you like it.
You might want to pin the pictures on your board for later reference and inspiration.
