Cupcake Kitty

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today I have a card featuring an image from Knitty Kitty Digis called Cupcake Kitty

I wanted to color the image with the “No line” technique so I printed the image on watercolor paper, using Microsoft Word and the washout coloring effect so that the lines would be barely visible. I also wrote the sentiment beside the image in the font called “Ravie”.
I printed the image one more time with the normal black lines on a printer paper so that I could look at it and make sure I would follow the lines.
I used pearlescent watercolors as a first layer, to have some shine and depth.
When the image was dry I used Polychromos pencils from Faber Castell to add some dimension.

For the whipped cream on the kitty’s head I used textured paste and for the cherry, the heart and the nose I used glossy accents. I also used Tonic Nuvo drops for the sprinkle and the flower.
To finish the image I used white acrylic paint just to add some accents.
I adhered the panel on a Kraft card base and doodle with a black marker around it.

I had so much fun coloring this image and creating the card and I hope you like it.
You might want to pin the pictures on your board for later reference and inspiration.
Thank you for visiting me today,

  1. Fantastic coloring job and love all the little details like the whipped cream on the kitty’s head and the doodled frame! Thanks for sharing over at Cards in Envy!

  2. Wow! Can’t believe how fabulous she looks, but then I read all the things you did to make her and it makes sense! So many skills and so much effort! But it really paid off, she is like a miniature work of art! Love the sentiment too! Thank you for making her look so beautiful! <3~

Thank you so much for your comment! It always makes me so happy when I read them! xoxo Olga
