DigiStamps4Joy June Challenge #149 – Option “For the Man in your life”

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today is the reminder of DigiStamps4Joy challenge #149 and the theme this month is “Anything goes option For the Man in your life”.

I created this card for my Father’s birthday that is on June 23rd and I am looking forward to his reaction! My grand-father owned a van like this when my dad was a boy (without the flowers though, lol) and it was red. So I thought it will bring memories back when he sees the card.

So come join the fun and play with us, you can participate with any image you want and you have a chance to win some great images!
You can fin many more images in the DigiStamps4Joy shop.

For my card today I have used the Image called Flower Power.

I wanted to color the image with the “No line” technique, if you are new to my blog let me tell you that I love this technique lately, so I printed the image on mixed media card stock, using Microsoft Word and the washout coloring effect so that the lines would be barely visible.
I used Polychromos pencils from Faber Castell to color the image and then I fussy cut the image.

I created a navy blue card base that measures 10x10cm, I used a rectangle die (discontinued)  from My Favourite Things to cut out a white panel that I adhered on the card base.
For the sentiment I used the same navy blue card stock and the “Block Happy Birthday” die from My Favourite Things. And since I did not have a die for the “DAD” I die cut 2 times more the Happy Birthday sentiment and used the letters D,A and D to create the word.

I adhered with foam tape the image on the bottom of the card and with the help of the positive die cut I glued the letters of the sentiment so it could be straight. I used a silver gel pen to add some accents on the inside of some of the letters.

It was so much fun to create this card for my dad and I hope you like it,
You might want to pin the pictures on your board for later reference and inspiration.

  4. Oh Olga what a great card for your Dad – I had a friend with a combi van and it brings back memories… not that there were flowers on it 🙂
