February 2019 Challenge Christmas cards Facebook Group

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!
Today I am sharing with you my Design Team inspiration card that I created for the February 2019 challenge over at the Christmas cards Facebook group and the theme this month is “Anything goes – Option Critters”

For my card today I decided to use the free digital image by Mindy Baxter from My Creative Scoop . Mindy Baxter is a talented crafter, cardmaker and amazing in coloring with Copic markers. Please go and have a look at her page, I am sure you will love her.
So I printed the image on Neenah solar white card stock, colored it with Copic markers first and then added details with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
I then created the background by using distress inks on a watercolor paper. After sponging “Broken China” and “Salty Ocean” I used droplets of water to create texture.

For the wooden frame look I used watercolor paper and sponged “Vintage Photo” distress oxide. Then using the 3D embossing folder by Tim Holtz called “Lumber” I passed it through the Big shot to create the wooden effect. After the watercolor paper was embossed I sponged on top “Walnut Stain” distress oxide and then I used the “Stacked Labels” dies from Tim Holtz and Sizzix to die cut the frame, I also die cut the background so it would fit inside the frame. I created the snow bank with a pearly white card stock. I passed a piece of it through the Big shot with the Stacked label die and then created the snow hill with my scissors.
To assemble my card I fussy cut the image and added foam squares in the back.
I adhered the wooden frame first with glue on the card base, then glued in the background and on top of that the snow bank.
Before adhering the image I stamped the sentiment and as a final touch I added some enamel dots.
